iTunes Review

A successful debut album in 2001 didn’t rush the members of A Camp back into the studio. But a safari trip to South Africa and main member Nina Persson's own restless creativity eventually sent this side project back into a proper studio to flesh out these creative asides. With Atomic Swing founder Niclas Frisk, Persson’s husband, former Shudder To Think guitarist, and Think’s former drummer Kevin March forming the core of her backing band, Persson invited guests like Swedish legend Nicolai Dunger to duet for “Golden Teeth and Silver Medals,” cellist Jane Scarpantoni (R.E.M., Bruce Springsteen), and Sparklehorse’s Mark Linkous (who produced the first A Camp album). Despite the many contributors, the album still settles into Persson’s vision. “It’s Not Easy to be Human” and “The Weed Had Got There First” focus on Persson’s personal dreams and fears. “Bear On the Beach” could be from the soundtrack of a desperate Scandinavian film with its wintry desolation, while “My America” comes romping back with a touch of ‘60s horn-torched girl group pop.

Absolutely Wonderful.

Love the new album from A Camp! It is finally so good to see them on the US iTunes store, this is the music we've been deprived of and the music we should be listening to! I highly recommend all of it, as every song was a creative jem to me.

Worst album cover of all time, too

I love Long Before Daylight and several songs from Super Extra Gravity, and was even a fan of the first A Camp record, but this is a total yawnfest. Never before has Nina sounded so pompous and had so few tunes...I suggest she drop the Dusty in Harlem trip, move back to Sweden, rejoin the Cardigans, and get back to making great pop music again.

full of wonder!

I loooove A Camps "Colonia."
I had bought their first album, which had Nina Persson experimenting with a bunch of new sounds, so i decided to buy this one.
The Crowning is an epic song which shlould have been a single!
Bear on the Beach is also a good song which focuses mostly on Nina's powerful vocals.
Chinatown is kool, and The Weed Had Got There First is such a sad, beautiful song.
It seems Nina has stopped writing lyrics about love & relationships on this one, but it is nevertheless an amazing album.

Following the Cardigans' international breakthrough in 1997, vocalist Nina Persson launched an experimental side project with the help of Atomic Swing's Niclas Frisk.
