iTunes Review

In the studio this duo from Boulder, Colorado (hence the 303 zip code moniker) specializes in hilarious hip-hop rhyming over cartoonish electronic soundscapes and synthesizers that sound pilfered from early 1990s gangsta rap albums. Following a techno-tinged intro, their second album opens with "PunkBitch," a festival-friendly party anthem that could have been penned by Adam Sandler. "Don't Trust Me" dares to rhyme "vegetarian" with "scared of him" while poking fun at urban hipsters to a sexed-up dance floor chorus that would make Peaches jealous. Similarly tongue-in-cheek is the infectious and minimally arranged "Chokechain" which makes light of tough guys who use pit bulls and rottweilers as testosterone accessories. With all the witty cynicisms that pepper Want, "Still Around" is an anomaly ballad that stands out like a big, beautiful, sore thumb. It weaves minor chord piano notes with a dramatic string section, fitting beats, and emotive lyrics about trying to keep a relationship going in the midst of a successful career as a hit making dipsomaniac.

How would you not Want this album?

It makes me Tapp my feet to the beat. All you Punkb*tch haters don't know what you're talking about. Dont Trust Me, trust your ears. You don't need a Chokechain to keep yourself listening. I really think you should listen to it, but since Im Not Your Boyfriend Baby, I Cant Do It Alone and you'll have to listen to it and be Starstrukk by its awesomeness. It doesn't take a Richman to know this is good stuff. Want is no Photofinnish, it's the clear winner. So why are you Still Around and not out buying this cd yet? Buy it and Holler Til You Pass Out! Go to bed tonight dreaming about how 3OH!3's Want is as beautiful as a Colorado Sunrise.

Raise those gang signs!

I found this band randomly, and ever since it seems that their throbbing beats and potent lyrics all seem to say one thing: 3OH!3 is the next big thing.

They have created a new genre, as electric meets heavy rap.
It's defintely some fresh new sound that is approachable.

Not to mention that their recent success on both Myspace and on the Warped Tour have definitely put a light upon where this band is going.

If you are not familiar with this band, I would descirbe their sound as a combination of headbanging rap, pimped out rides, tight/clean beats and dirty scratchy vocals, technotronic/hypnotic thrashing, poignant/addictive lyrics, and everything you could ever want. period.

Not to mention, every song on Want seems to exude a uniqueness that shows the effort put into this album.

This is definitely NOT a sophemore slump because 3OH!3 has just brought back cool.
