Civil Twilight

Civil Twilight! I've got another Civil Twilight song!

I'M JUST HERE FOR STEVEN MCKELLAR.

Okay, real talk: I love Nirvana. A lot. I don't plan on listening to this album, but I LOVE Civil Twilight, so I downloaded "Come As You Are;" if you buy only one song off of this album, make it that one. It's Steven McKellar's haunting voice and a piano and a beautiful, dark sound, and I adore it. Covering a band like Nirvana is impossible, but Civil Twilight managed to pull it off because they capture the feeling that Nirvana's music invokes. I highly, highly recommend their track on this album; do it. You won't be sorry.

what the f**k?

honestly, i own all the nirvana albums and since its the 20th anniversary of nevermind, i was figuring id just buy the new version with extra songs, and when i saw this i thought it would be great, i was wrong. the cover of polly by finger eleven is the only song im okay with. i understand that these songs are to pay tribute and the musicians who covered these songs trying to pay homage to these fantastic songs, but i feel as if the messages kurt was trying to get across have been destroyed. if you want to hear nirvana just buy the original versions of these songs. my favorite song, lounge act, was completely butchered. in short, ask yourselves what kurt would think, or better yet id like to hear courtney love's opinion of this album.
