Album Review
Not to be confused with San Francisco's great post-punk pioneers Sleepers, this Chicago band's second LP ain't bad early ‘70s metal-flavored rock ‘n' roll without the sludge. What if MC5's Wayne Kramer and Fred Smith had joined Rolling Stones for those Chuck Berry covers? Or if New York Dolls had boogied with AC/DC and Black Crowes guitars and a double-tracked Robin Zander (Cheap Trick) on vocals? You'd get this shakin'-fist-in-the-air stuff — roaring, stomping, heavy, "filthy" rock ‘n' roll — with songs such as "Loaded" and "Jailbait" (careful, boys!) channeling the riff from Dead Boys "Caught with the Meat in Your Mouth"/Rocket from the Tombs' "Never Gonna Kill Myself Again." You'll want to cruise with them on their "Detroit Ride" — just watch the underage girls.

Awesome rock!!!
For years now, i have listened to there first album and i truely believed that they could not make a better album than push it nationwide. When i bought Comeback Special, i was amazed that they still had there freaky-sweet, upbeat tempo to them. BUY THIS ALBUM IF YOU WANNA ROCK!
Even better than PUSH IT!
Fantastic work! Comeback Special, Filthy Ways, and Crime of the Century Blues are simply amazing tracks. Old rock and roll rears its head again--what music has been missing for so long is heard again. Chicago's best band.
what rock music should be
I bought this album a few days ago, and haven't put it down since. A must buy for anyone who is truly interested in good, old fashioned, bare bones, kick you in the teeth rock n roll.
