iTunes Review

An R&B singer active for nearly two decades, Jon B got his start as a songwriter for hire, penning material for the likes of Michael Jackson and Tony Braxton. His debut album, Bonafied, dropped in 1995. Its follow-up, Cool Relax, was a platinum-selling smash, spawning singles like "Are U Still Down" (with Tupac) and "They Don't Know." Throughout the '00s, he released four more albums, but none really made much noise. He continued to collaborate with some of hip-hop's biggest names (Nas, Paul Wall, AZ, Scarface, Ol' Dirty Bastard, etc.) but failed to chart much solo work. Comfortable Swagg is his seventh album, and it finds him reinventing his style. The earlier tracks ("Goin Down," the title track), are of the super-fast BPM, Euro/techno variety and pretty much fall into love-it-or-hate-it territory. The pace then slows for a batch of ballads ("Make Up Love," "Baby Maker") that are still heavy on the electro vibe but considerably mellower and more listenable. Older fans with surely embrace the ironically titled "Do U Miss Me" and the quality DJ Quik collabo "Fill Your Cup."

Amazing yet again.

I like the new feel to this album. Modern yet still classic and original. Sounds great going solo Jon B!!!! Always on point. Congrats to him. Also nice meeting Jon B the other night when he performed in Denver. To one of my favorite artists, keep up the good work:-).

Hottness Everytime!

It sounds like Jon B took a different approach with this project and I've never been disappointed in Jon B. album ever. One thing I've learned about this artist is to listen to each track completely...and before you know it, you won't be able to get it out of your head! Based on the snippets I heard, "Comfortable Swagg" plays on avant garde sonic sophistication and the classic grown & sexy sound Jon B. is best known for....reloaded with a twist. Favorite tracks: "Fill Ur Cup"..."Only One"...."Goin
Down"...."Comfortable Swagg". Try something different, don't think, just go with it......

About time Jon!!!!

Only One is definately the flagship track, and rightfully so. Can't wait for the video!!!! Baby Maker has the sickest beat man , those keyboard sounds are too hot, don't know what keyboard your using but I want it!!!!! My Distraction is crazy hot , nice atmospheric sound to it, and of course Karma Sutra is that quality bedroom music that only Jon could deliver nowadays, appreciate it Jon. This is definately gonna be my summertime drivin' soundtrack especially!!! Theres a couple tracks that have that house dancy sound that i cant seem to get away from nowadays on the radio, but the other tracks def make up for it. Quality album as always Jon!!!!!
