Daptone Records is king
This is good, damn good. BUY anything you see with the Daptone label on it.
Beautiful, Soulful, ORIGINAL! Worth every penny!
This album is nothing but: some of the most beautiful and soulful gospel I have ever heard. All a capella and (from my knowledge) completely original compositions of very original gospel songs on very classic themes. Some of my favorites include all of Brother & Sister Walker, their son, Robert Walker and Irene Stevenson who all have a very unique sound on these obviously one-take recorded versions. Sometimes haunting, sometimes calming, sometimes both, but always inspirational, all of the artists are represented very well: as extremely humble, ordinary church-going folk with a passion for the music of the human voice. In my opinion, most of the sound-bites speak for themselves. Do yourself a favor and invest in this hidden jewel of the fertile Mississippi delta.

Its never too late to get right with the man upstairs.(Praise Jesus) And lo and behold, ... this fine record will help you on your way .(ah-men on that)... The artist who compile this excellent recording are ah virtual who's who of gospel singers as well as preachers who sing.
I only hope(God willin) that when that final day comes ( Praise Jesus) and St Peter calls my name forth(ah-men) That the angels who sing out ! sound half as beautiful as the golden voices on this incredible album of love. Ah-men ...!
