Album Review

A compilation gathering the first three albums by Haste the Day, Concerning the Way It Was serves as a great introduction to the Christian metalcore band’s brand of spiritual heaviness. Containing their 2004 debut, Burning Bridges, as well as their 2005 follow-up When Everything Falls and 2007’s Pressure the Hinges, this three-disc set takes listeners on a tour through Haste the Day’s formative years, starting at their humble beginnings right through their days of Billboard success. The lack of bonus material makes this collection non-essential for longtime fans, but for anyone new to the band, Concerning the Way It Was is a great jumping on point.

Stupid "old" HTD fans

All of you fans of the old haste the day just bash them all the freaking time about o Jimmy never should have left and crap like that well that's the reason the broke up they are sick of all the crap they get from you stupid old HTD fans I honestly think their newest stuff was getting better and better with each album like their newest one was just plain BRUTAL well im done complaining I'll miss you HTD goodbye rest in peace I'll give you all my last goodbye in Louisville in march see you then

Simply Saddening

I used to be a huge fan of HTD back in the day when they actually had a message, and a signature sound. I know, the true fan follows the band through thick and thin, but their music turned to garbage, and this album is sadly just a call for more money, and attention that they no longer deserve. Fans, or new listeners, learn the roots...and stick to them. Or support a band that got rid of the one thing that made them special.

sigh

when jimmy left, haste the day lost its sound... period.
