iTunes Review
Concert for George presents an all-star cast paying tribute to George Harrison a year after his death, on November 29, 2002, at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Eric Clapton served as musical director and contributes many fine performances of Harrison’s most beloved compositions (“If I Needed Someone,” “Beware of Darkness”). Paul McCartney teams with Clapton for a dramatic interpretation of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” begins “Something” on ukulele, an instrument that McCartney claims was of great amusement to Harrison, and remains in top form, putting great emotion behind “All Things Must Pass.” Ringo Starr belts out “Photograph,” his Harrison-penned hit, and “Honey Don’t,” a Carl Perkins number once performed with the Beatles. This iTunes edition includes “Horse to the Water,” an impressive unreleased original penned by George and his son Dhani, and performed by Sam Brown and Jools Holland. Harrison’s interest in Indian music is emphasized with performances by his mentor Ravi Shankar’s daughter Anoushka, who collaborates with Jeff Lynne for a faithful reading of “The Inner Light.” It’s clearly a night put together with great love and affection for a much missed musician.

Feel The Love
A fantastic loving tribute to the person and music of George Harrison. Just looking at the names of those who performed, it's no surprise that this was one heck of a show. In many ways, every track is its own highlight, but my personal favorites are easily Billy Preston's "Isn't It A Pity", Ringo's "Photograph", Joe Brown's "That's The Way It Goes", and Jeff Lynne's "Give Me Love". That's not meant to leave out the stellar work of Clapton, Petty or McCartney; their brilliance goes without saying. And Dhani's ability to "channel" George is simply breath-taking. It's a little frustrating that the bonus track cannot be purchased separately, as I already own the set; but it is tempting. It's hard to go wrong with any purchases here. Just a great artisitic achievement across the board. A true testament to George Harrison's brilliant talents.
It's about freakin' time, iTunes.
Track 25, which isn't available on the CD..should be credited to Sam Brown & Jools Holland, not Jeff Lynne. Anyone who has seen C.F.G. will know that "Horse To the Water" was one of the program's highlights. Definitely worth buying the whole album to get it.
A Great Tribute to George
This album is great, and it is a great tribute to one of the best musical artists ever. Every song on this album is amazing, especially Eric Clapton's version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps. George Harrison will continue to live in music lovers forever, and this is why.
