Album Review

Following in the footsteps of Sean "Puffy" Combs, Cam'ron created an accessible fusion of rap and pop that manages to keep some sort of street edge. Of course, that doesn't mean Cam'ron is hardcore — he may come off as an East Coast gangsta, but his music is polished and melodic, much like that of Puff, his mentor. He happens to be a better rapper than Puffy, but he doesn't have the pop flair that makes Combs' productions big hits. Still, he shows promise on his debut, Confessions of Fire. Although it has too many songs and some blend together, he shows potential as a charismatic rapper and there are enough strong singles, including "357" and "Horse & Carriage," to make it worth a listen for fans of East Coast popcore.

CLASSIC HARLEM WORLD

Killa's first album since C.O.C. broke up. Cam's style was good then and is very similar on this album. features effective guest apperances by ma$e, charlie baltimore JD & usher. he has a good mix of gangsta and pop songs. '357' 'Me & My Boo' and 'Feels Good' have a pop-rap sound to them, but the lyrics are actually about hood stuff. his lyrics take a while to get used to. not everybody likes that kind of lyrical flow. i think every song on here is good to some extent, but the best ones are: 'Glory' '357' 'D rugs' and probably 'Death'. albums like this are the reason why cam'ron and dipset will NEVER fade

This must be a joke

I don't know how many times he said f**k in this album, but it's extremely funny. :)

i think they got cam confused with mase!

yeah i think they got Cam confused with Mase talking bout he's Puff's protege lol. but anyway i like this album i used to listen to it alot when i was like 15. I like the Cam from this album better than the new one. Matter fact rap was alot better in the 90's than it is now....
