Album Review
While it doesn't quite match the dizzying heights of his breakthrough Todo a Su Tiempo, Marc Anthony's third album Contra la Corriente is nevertheless a barnstormer of a record. Anthony is no typical salsa singer — he's a powerful, bold singer who doesn't follow the genre's traditions. He ignores improvisation and concentrates on love songs, but the very sensuality of his vocals and music is his trademark. There might not be as many great songs here as on Todo a Su Tiempo, but there are no bad tunes, and Contra la Corriente on the whole captures his soaring, sexy vocals in a near-flawless manner.

Love it!
I love this album, in fact, it's ONLY one I like of all his CDs. The lyrics are great and you can dance to every single one. I don't skip at all on this CD!!!
Contra La Corriente
This album was not at the same level as his prior albums. However tracks 1,2 & 6 are great hits, that make this album a must have for your collection.
Passion and Energy
This album has energized me so many times - the huge passion and beautiful sound of Marc Anthony's voice are incredible. Unlike many of the ballads he is known for to the English-language music world, this is vibrant and rhythmic. I love his improvisations, and the band is tight as a drum. Definitely worth it to translate the lyrics, that is some intense stuff!
