If you crave singer/songwriters who actually sing...Kim is your girl. There's much to love about Kim, but her debut album remains relevant and resonant.
I'll never forget seeing Kim sing 'River' live in San Francisco a few years ago. She unexpectedly gave the audience the backstory for the song and proceeded to deliver one of the most incredible live performances of a song I've ever heard. Kim followed with her take on 'Over the Rainbow.' It's a crime that a recording of her take isn't available. Her version is uniquely hers and simply stunning.
If you want a sampler...download Contradictions, Do You Remember, River and Here Comes the Rain. After those four songs...trust me...you'll download the rest of the album and the rest of her catalog.
Kim's cover of Here Comes the Rain just kills. You've got to have b*lls to cover Annie Lennox, and Kim delivers a genius version. Annie would be proud.
