Frighteningly beautiful record!
First off, Kelly's voice is beautiful. It's also charming. She sounds like such a sweet girl, then the lyrics get you. You realize the red in her rainbows is blood crimson. The scissors she used to cut fresh flowers from her back yard are dripping with that same crimson color. Then you realize: you weren't invited in, you were lured in to listening to this record and now you're trapped and held captive in her basement while she feeds you candy and sweets and decides what to do with you...
Folks who liked Nick Cave's "Murder Ballads" or Muleskinner Jones or Neko Case will love this record.
