Gene Autry's Cowboy Hymns and Songs of Inspiration gathers tracks from his CBS radio show Melody Ranch, his many films, and his TV show. Recorded between 1945 and 1952, these 18 tracks give listeners a chance to sample Autry's versions of "The Old Rugged Cross," "Peace in the Valley," and "A Cowboy's Prayer." Performing with the Singing Cowboy on various songs are Dinah Shore, Johnny Bond, the Kettle Sisters, the Cass County Boys, Carl Cotner's Orchestra, and the Pinafores.
