Fantastic folk album
Gayle Skidmore's Cowley Road EP is a fantastic, concise collection of easy-on-the-ears acoustic folk songs with a European bent. The songs reminded me of a summer night in Paris, with Julie Delpy (circa "Before Sunset") leading me on some sort of waltzy, wayfaring journey down some ancient avenue or alleyway. Great variety of instrumentation and song styles, but totally cohesive at the same time. Perfect music for the hostel-hopping expats (or at least those who dream about living that way).

With all the superfluous and fluffy music that permeates the airwaves and video channels today, it is so wonderfully refreshing to find a voice and a talent out there that screams, "FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SOMEONE GET ME OUT OF THE MASS OF MEDIOCRITY!!" And that voice and talent belong to Gayle Skidmore from San Diego, California. Her music and song writing are in a class unto themselves.
skidMORE is so refreshing
I want MORE of Gayle Skidmore! Where did she come from? I haven't heard anyone this singularly talented in YEARS and I think I may start following her around like a groupie. SERIOUSLY! SOOO GOOD! I want all of my friends to hear her and I think I may start convincing them all to go to shows with me.
