Album Review

This six-track EP helped bridge the gap between the April 1988 release of The Innocents and the October 1989 release of Wild! "Stop!" and "Knocking on Your Door" (both heard in original and 12" remix versions) were typical hi-NRG Erasure tracks, with driving dance beats and forceful tenor vocals by Andy Bell, but they did not embrace the broader pop audience the group had reached with the 1988 singles "Chains of Love" and "A Little Respect." "She Won't Be Home" was a Christmas song, reflecting the seasonal release of the EP in November 1988 in the U.K.

Classic Erasure

This was Erasure's Christmas single in the UK in 1988, and made it all the way to #2, led by the driving force of one of their most irresistible songs, "Stop." But the other three tracks are great as well--"The Hardest Part" is a lovely ballad, "Knocking on Your Door" is a great hi-nrg track, and "She Won't Be Home" is Erasure's one stab at writing a Christmas song. The "Stop" remix was heavily played in clubs in the US in the Spring of 1989, and made it to #5 on the Billboard Dance Chart.

Love Erasure

Awesome! I had the tape cassette for this album when I was a kid and totally forgot about it since its a short one. I love it just like all of their albums!!!! iTunes needs to get all of Erasure albums (not just the hits that were on the radio) to help me replace my cassettes since old time Erasure fans probably missing them in their iTunes collection! All of Erasure's songs are great and you are missing out if you only buy their greatest hits because a lot of their b-sides that never got radio play are some of my favorites!

Im so happy!

Just last week I was looking for she wont be home. A must for any Erasure fan. I have not heard these songs since the 80's. enjoy.

Following the disbandment of the short-lived synth pop group Yazoo, former Depeche Mode member Vince Clarke formed Erasure in 1985 with singer Andy Bell. Like Yaz and Depeche Mode, Erasure were a synth-based group, but they had stronger dance inclinations, as well as a sharper, more accessible sense of pop songcraft, than either of Clarke's previous bands. Furthermore, Erasure had the flamboyantly eccentric Andy Bell — one of the first openly gay performers in pop music — as their focal...
