Very Promising
I, like many others, had read about Santogold in Rolling Stone a few months back (they absolutely raved about her) so I mosied on over to her Myspace page to check it out. I fell in love with the Shove It Switch Remix and just had to make it my profile song. The single many talked about, L.E.S. Artistes, was good but took a few listens to grow on me. Now that I really like Santogold, I really like the song. This single is great. I personally prefer Creator but both songs are good. They are packed with awesome beats, a foreign/naturey sound, and her voice is like sweet red candy. Of course she is compared with M.I.A., whom I also love, but Santogold is taking the formula M.I.A. has done so well and making it her own. Yes, the two sound alike BUT they both manage to be different and still totally awesome. I read somwhere her debut album is coming out in April. If the album is like the songs released now, than it might be on my top 10 list for 2008. Already thinking ahead! These songs are very promising and hopefully they are setting the tone for what else is coming. I'll buy her album the day it drops, I promise you Santogold! All in all, this is a talented new artist to keep a close watch on. I bet her debut will be great, and I totally cannot wait. For now, I'll have to feed my ears with these two awesome tunes.

Better than good, it's GOLD.
I've been listening to Santogold for a few months now on her myspace page, been waiting what seems like forever for her to put out an album, I'm still waiting, but at this this will hold me over until then. Her beats and singing are amazing, I've heard comparisons to M.I.A. and I guess I can see that, but I really feel like Santogold holds her own. She has her own style and takes on the jams. Buy it.
