iTunes Review
From hippie enchantress to AOR hitmaker to enduring pop icon, Stevie Nicks has gone through a host of permutations since the mid-‘70s. Crystal Visions (2007) is the latest and best attempt to anthologize her 30-plus year recording output. After her fruitful stint with Fleetwood Mac, Nicks matured into an astute rock craftsperson, able to grow beyond her folk/country beginnings and adapt to the trends of the 1980s and ‘90s. Whatever her adjustments in style, her lyric obsessions with magic (“Rhiannon,” ”Sorceress”) and romantic disappointment (“Dreams,” “I Can’t Wait”) have remained constant. And if her voice has lost some of the waif-like delicacy of her early years, it’s gained a deep, throaty luster with time, as her cover of Led Zep’s “Rock And Roll” shows. From her duets with Tom Petty (“Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around”) and Don Henley (“Leather And Lace”) to live symphony-backed versions of “Landslide” and “Edge Of Seventeen,” Crystal Visions gives a sampling of the height and breadth of her music. The absence of original Fleetwood Mac tracks is an obvious weak spot here, but as an overview of Nicks as singer, songwriter and image-shifting celebrity, this collection more than satisfies.

Awesome album, buy the CD/DVD package for the videos...
I bought the cd/dvd package and was happy to see Stevie finally released some of her art work which is on each cd/dvd. The music we know is wonderful - the live version of Rock & Roll is a real treat to have. The cd contains some of the old standbys with some new takes on old songs like the ones with the orchestra backing her. The DVD however, is what all Stevie fans have been waiting for - the making of Bella Donna contains home video of Stevie, Lori & Sharon laying down the harmony vocals on many of the songs. I would have paid $30.00 for just that DVD alone. Her voice is beautiful, and with the commentary on the videos and behind the scenes Bella Donna footage you get insight into her personality which is funny, sarcastic and pretty darn entertaining. You must buy Crystal Visions, you won't be disappointed!
The Queen of Rock....rocks out on the new Live tracks!! WOW
This is a pretty definitive collection spanning songs made famous w/ Fleetwood Mac & her solo career w/ enough twists to keep it interesting for the die hards....For me, the LIVE tracks are especially brilliant and she rocks them hard.....I love this new live version of Rhiannon, even better than the Fleetwood Mac's "Dance" version....It's harder rockin' and Stevie sings it with such Thunder and control at the same time. The Live Edge of 17 is equally remarkable, made even more intense when the Melbourne Orchestra Strings kick in half way through. When I first heard there were going to be 2 "Edges" included on this package I though it was a wasted opportunity for another track, but after hearing this new Live version, I understand fully why it was included....Its powerful and Rocks hard in a totally different way then the classic studio version...Upon hearing all these 4 wonderful new Live tracks...I think Stevie should have just released a whole Live recording. But the running order is great and flows beautifully....Much improved upon her last greatest hits Timespace.....This is the real deal! and arguably confirms that she IS the Queen of Rock and the biggest selling female ROCK star of all time!
