Breathtakingly original band
I first heard about Cuddle Magic when i was told i was playing with a show with them at the AS220 in Providence, RI. Little did i know, i was going to be seeing the most outstanding live show i had ever seen. The live set was so clean, so naturally i had to pick up a cd to see if could meet up to the already high standards i had for the band, and it was absolutely amazing.
avant garde + pop = amazing music!!!
I've had the pleasure of seeing Cuddle Magic multiple times in the Boston area, and without a doubt they are one of the freshest musical acts on the indie scene right now. They seemlessly combine avant garde composition style with pop harmonies, resulting in music that is at the same time both starkly complex and beautifully comfortable. The closest I've come to describing it is to imagine what The Notwist would sound like if they had all gone to musical conversatory (nearly all members of CM were trained at the prestigious New England Conservatory). Their debut release contains many hidden gems of this musical brilliance, including "Sandinista", "Regular Unleaded" and "Paper Mask". Cuddle Magic is smart, beautiful music.
