Cuts from Traditional Cloth
I don't know whether to praise Michael Grey first as a composer or as a piper and musician. He does both on a level which could only be described as genius. Even his most light-hearted tunes are so classy and obviously written by someone with an extensive knowledge of and respect for traditional music that they will surely stand the test of time in a way that few other modern bagpipe compostions will. I had owned this album for less than 24 hours when I knew that it would be a permanent addition to my collection. It seamlessly takes you from tapping your foot to wanting to close your eyes and block out everything but the music. Michael Grey is a force to be reckoned with! Absolutely Brilliant!
