Looks like Cartel
After their last cd I did not know what to think of this bands direction. With songs like "the fortunate" I knew it was still close to Chroma, but the cd fell a few steps short of a sophomore slump. This cd, though, with songs "Let's Go", "The Perfect Mistake", "It Still Remains", and "Conventional Friend" shows more paralless to Chroma and will definitly draw back the same crowd that fell in love with this little known band from Atlanta Georgia only a few years ago. The only quabble i have with this cd is, where is the diversity in this cd that the "Chroma" possessed? Sure, "Honestly", "Runaway", and "Say Anything (Else)" were pretty similar, but i guess what I'm asking is, where are the parallels of "Q", "A", and, definitly "The Minstrel's Prayer"? Other than that, the CD fulfills the cd's opening track line of "Let's Go" by bringing back the high energy Cartel we know and love.
miss the old cartel
anyone else feel like Cartel has lost their old sound? I miss the days of Chroma, Honestly and Runaway were great. This stuff now is just so generic and indifferent. I mean they had "Lose it", which no doubt was catchy but lyric-wise was terrible and was about nothing. Now their hit song is Let's go. Just seems like music with nothing behind it, catchy but no substance.
Cartel = love
This is my favorite band, and this new album proves why. Unlike their second album, "Cartel", which stirred many negative reactions from fans, this album is pure gold from start to finish. It provides feel-good, upbeat and fun songs that are perfect for road trips, parties or just hanging out. I can't wait to play it over and over again (as I have with Cartel's previous CDs). Long story short...buy this. You won't regret it.
