Man do I miss when hip-hop was hip-hop
R.I.P. - Big Pun and Big L. Two absolutely incredible MC's. Twist one up to this - "Legalize it and I will advertise it"
Diggin' In The Crates
D.I.T.C. the movement that changed everything -- the birth of underground hip hop in NYC. A.G. (andre the giant), Buckwild, Big Pun ( R.I.P.), Big L ( R.I.P.), Diamond D, Fat Joe, Freddie Fox, Milano, Lord Finesse, Party Arty and Showbiz are the members that form DITC. Soul Soldiers of Hip Hop. A pioneering exhibit explores the widely varied experiences of Hip Hop in New York City. Remy Martin was not a member. I dont understand why that's that s**t track is here?????
I have heard alot of these hits already but...
Its great that they have been assembled here, and more importantly put out now when the scales are tilted perilously toward "Rap" (read: motivated by $$, Cookie cutter flows and production) instead of Hip Hop (read: well thought-out lyrics motivated by the cultivation and advancement of the art; Hard unique beats and flipped samples that you had to dig for) You can tell a song is a classic when you are nodding to the beat (even if you don't know the artist/song info) and later find out it is was made 10 years ago.
