iTunes Review

A solid sequel to their standout collabo released in 2007, Da Bidness 2 reunites the eternally grinding Bay Area trio for another impressive batch of tunes. PSD, Keak Da Sneak, and Messy Marv have been dropping high-quality, independent hip-hop for many years now, and no matter how many projects they put out, they just keep getting better. As expected, the rhymes here are heavy on the criminology and daily life-in-the-hood observations, while the production is appropriately bumping, a funk-laden collage of rotund bass bumps, hard-knocking drums, breezy instrumentation, and meandering keyboards. Guest features compliment the crew on nearly every track, coming from local homies like E-40 ("Treal"), Husulah and Vital ("Caboose"), Clyde Carson ("Get You Some"), and Big Rich ("Ghetto Love"), as well as others such as Jagged Edge and Baby Bash. If you're down with the Northern Cali slap scene, this is right up your alley.
