Album Review
Kaskade’s second mix CD of 2010 puts the focus on his own work. Most tracks come from the producer’s back catalog or remixes he’s done for other artists, with only a handful of cuts coming from outside sources. As such, it’s a fan's dream mix, especially when old Kaskade favorites like “It’s You It’s Me” get the 2010 treatment. Newer numbers, like “Don’t Stop Dancing” and the title track from his recent Dynasty album, are remixed to near perfection, too, and with floor-filling anthems such as “Chase the Sun” and “Finally Found” mixed in, this is a good snapshot of the post-trance dancefloor in 2010. The overall mix is near seamless and follows an upward arc, closing on Alex Gaudino’s uplifting “I’m in Love,” which after so much of Kaskade’s slick coolness, offers sweet disco relief with glitter and joy.
