Powerful, honest rock with huge hooks and infectious melodies
Watt White's solo debut EP combines undeniable choruses that linger in your head for days, a unique but accessible vocal style that leaves you wanting more, and lyrical themes that everyone can relate to, but at no times seem trite. Watt is delivering tight pop gems, though with an aggressiveness that occasionally toes the line of metal, and the resulting concoction is a collection of songs that go head to head with Nickelback, Daughtry, Hinder, 3 Doors Down, Buckcherry, and the like. I believe Watt has demonstrated his worthiness to enter this small club of elite rockers, and based on this EP, I'm sure he's here to stay.
This guy is a hitmaker
I first stumbled upon Watt White on Netflix looking for superhero movies for my son when I came across the documentary featuring him titled "Rock and Roll Superhero. I admit I instantly became smitten by his hook driven, anthemic pop/rock/metal(?) sound. He reminded me of so many songwriter friends of mine who write incredible songs, yet languish in obscurity because the music industry--for whatever reason, never seems to recognize great talent, even when it's right under their noses. Watt White's new EP is a real gem that begs to be listened to. The crowning jewel in this effort is "Impossible" which by all rights, should be on every radio station across the country. Buy his EP and watch the documentary, which has his first CD on it, which is excellent as well. Tell your friends. Watt White is someone who shouldn't go unnoticed.
