iTunes Review

Earnest anthems with a spiritual undercurrent dominate Remedy Drive’s 2008 major label debut Daylight is Coming. The songs here are tightly-written and cleanly-executed, no doubt benefitting from the chemistry between the four brothers who constitute the group. Paul, Phillip, David, and Daniel Zachs achieve a surging sound reminiscent of Switchfoot, with elements of Coldplay guitar drone tossed in. Tracks like “Stand Up,” “Daylight,” “Hope,” and “Heartbeat” are galvanizing bursts of positive energy, built around shimmering riffs and stirring rhythms. The brothers’ vocal harmonies — sweet, with nicely dissonant touches — boost the impact of “What Happens (At the End).” The buoyant tunefulness of “Valuable,” “Something Made to Last,” and other tracks betrays a Brit-pop influence. Though firmly God-centered in stance, Remedy Drive avoid Christianese clichés as they reach out to their Savior (as in “Belong with You” and “Get to Know You”). Ian Eskalin’s production is dense but not busy, lending the tracks a wide-screen, deep-bottomed sound. Overall Remedy Drive’s Daylight is Coming offers a smoothly satisfying ride.

Another stellar album

As a long time fan of Remedy Drive, I knew these guys were great. This album continues their tradition of great songs filled with amazing vocals, creative melodies, and uplifting lyrics. This album has a much more mature sound from their previous, but it maintains all that makes Remedy Drive great. Buy this album and buy one for a friend.

Daylight is AWWWWESOME!

Remedy Drive. That's all I should have to say, but I won't. This album is great, buy it! 11 tracks of solid music. Great vocals, melodies, and they are brothers so seriously, THAT"S AWESOME!

Daylight is Awesome

This album is another hit from Remedy Drive. The rock sound with a Christian message speaks volumes to any who listen to it. The guitars, vocals, piano, and drum beats all make this new album a great buy. It is enjoyable to listen to and it always sounds amazingly fresh. Keep rocking, Remedy Drive. This is the album of the year.

The absence of a television set at their home in Lincoln, NE, led band of brothers Remedy Drive to turn to music at an early age as an outlet for their pent-up creative energies. Growing up, they listened to CCM icon Keith Green, but it wasn't long until siblings David, Paul, Philip, and Daniel Zach discovered rock & roll and began using their free time after school to play music together, eventually forming the Aslan Band in 1998. In time, the Zachs rechristened themselves Remedy Drive, released...
