Album Review
Cannibal Ox and Company Flow may have played a more visible role in the Def Jux label's rise to critically acclaimed status in the early 2000s, but Aesop Rock also garnered a considerable amount of attention for the alt-rap label. He collaborates with producer Blockhead here, though Cannibal Ox fans will be happy to know that El-P produces one of this EP's tracks, "Nickel Plated Pockets." But for the most part, this EP is a showcase for Blockhead and Aesop. The two lay down quite a few tracks that are on a par with those found on Aesop's preceding full-length, Labor Days, making this EP a wonderful follow-up that should interest fans of the Def Jux establishment.

DAYLIGHT/THGILTHGIN
The placement of daylight and nightlight on this album is pure genius. Aesop Rock is dope any day of the week, but the contrast or these two complimentary songs astounds me. He's brilliant.
