Retarded awesomeness.
If you're looking for an earth-shatteringly orignal take on deathcore/breakdowns/brutality/etc... this is not it. If you are looking for legitimately good music that is thought-provoking and dynamic... this is not it. If you are looking for a good time regardless... this is DEFINITELY IT. Whenever I'm in a really, really brutal mood (usually, that means happy...) and I just want something that will rip my face off, Dead In My Arms by Carnifex NEVER fails. The entire CD is basically just one very long, very brutal, VERY ridiculous breakdown, and it never lets up. I promise you, this album will satisfy ANY and ALL cravings you may have for completely brainless, unabashed brutality. Now, saying this album has nothing legitimately good about it is not really true. I LOVE the production quality. It's pretty raw and un-produced feeling. The guitars are very real sounding, with all the extra string noise left in the mix, and the drums have a very non-triggered feel to them. The vocals are also pretty exceptional for the genre; probably the best I've ever heard in terms of range and intensity (again, for this genre). So just buy a few songs at least. You WILL have a good time :)
