Amazing Music, Incredible Causes

I love this album! ALL proceeds go to benefit Sweet Home New Orleans and the Gulf Restoration Network. The music is from the heart, with many of the tracks written specifically to or about New Orleans, or performed in New Orleans with tremendous care, tenderness, and emotion. As the MC5's Wayne Kramer said, "Go to New Orleans and meet the folks down there, talk with them, eat with them, work alongside them and then play music with them and for them. Anyone that calls themselves a musician owes a debt to New Orleans." Clearly the musicians involved in this album believe that.

This album is really really good. And I'm not just saying that because it is a benefit album. Actually, a benefit album usually means it will be kind of crappy. I have listened to this collection from start to finish and read through the beautiful booklet. It just keeps getting better. Pretty much every artist on album sings about New Orleans and in a lot of different styles. It's a great tribute to a city we all have gotten so much from: musician and music lover alike. I love that this gives me so much music and gives back a lot more. Thank you!!!
