Once again - a great record!
This is an amazing record. "Shoe Gazer Disco" is a standout as is Morel's visionary cover of Bowie's "Sweet Thing" and "My Side". The record has a sexy, hazey, intoxicating musical center mixed with poetic imagery.
This Is What House Music Should Be...
I'll keep it short and sweet. For fans of progressive or edgy house music, this purchase is a no brainer. It's exquisite, well produced, intelligent and pleasurable to listen to.
The inclusion of the David Bowie cover "Sweet Thing" is an added bonus. Very well executed.
Richard Morel is a master. Hands down. He can do rock and house music both to perfection. This album is actually part 2 of a 2-CD set which is only available online from either the label Outsider Music or eBay.
I originally bought this album from iTunes not realizing it's a deejay mixed set that flows from one track into another with no breaks. It's perfect for a house party. Playing this on an iPod, iPad or iPhone is fine, the songs blend well and there are no problems in the transitions from track to track.
However, if you burn this to a CD to play in a car or other CD player, you're going to be disappointed. Each track skips by a half second or so which is very annoying. For this reason, I suggest buying the 2-CD set.
It's an excellent set to have no argument there but to burn to CD and have it skip is unacceptable.
Get it on CD! Great stuff!!
