just....amazing

What a nuanced record. There is so much to write about- the incredible songwriting, the amazing playing- especially the drums and bass work, the heart shattering lyrical content. This whole album sounds like an entirely new sound but yet familiar in some way. A bold and fantastic debut from Cory Chisel. Is he perhaps our next Springsteen? Our next Petty?

Best Record of the Year for me!

I first heard of CC&TWS last week when iTunes listed their video as the discovery video of the week. Quite simply I was blown away by the video and immediately bought the band's entire catalog on iTunes and WOW am I glad I did. This CD has been in constant play since I bought it. It will get my vote as best new album of the year. Their live EP (Cabin Ghosts) shows their talent as live musicians--simply put, these folks are REALLY good! Their songwriting, their harmonizing, their great guitar licks, their amazing organ riffs make this band the best new talent I have heard in some time. I cannot wait to see them live here in the Cleveland area. Buy this music--NOW!

Micro Music Review

Cory Chisel’s debut for Black Seal Records, is a dark and urgent rock and roll vision. It takes a romantic stance on the meaning of love and spirituality, as the songs seek to make sense of the world outside and human desires within.

With Grammy winning producer Joe Chiccarelli at the helm, Cory's songs have transformed into lush and nuanced recordings that never sacrifice his emotional vulnerability or his rich and unique vocal tone.

The songs were recorded primarily at Blackbird Studios in Nashville with Adriel Harris and Little Jack Lawrence on initial tracking. Cory, Adriel and Little Jack are then joined by Patrick Keeler on drums. Carl Broemel from My Morning Jacket and Blake Mills of Band Of Horses also contribute on guitar. --Audiostar
