Doomed to infect us all
There are no filler tracks on this album.
There's nothing that sounds like Devin said, "We've got about 120 minutes to fill, and only 40 of them are taken up by the real hits, so lets strum something together that can pass the time and spread the rest out so the listener doesn't get bored of fast-forwarding to the good bits or stopping after the first few tracks."
They all sound like Devin was expecting to die within minutes and was hurting to get something out of him before his last breath, before he could pluck a guitar string no more. Deconstruction is angry and sarcastic, while Ghost is the best make-up sex your ears have ever had.
I'm sure you've all had an argument, at one time, over the merits of classical music versus "Pop", "Rock" and "Metal". Classical music had stood the test of time, and therefore it must be great. But at one time that "classical" music was actually pop, and what was selected to be performed again and again centuries later was the stuff that made its audience sit down, shut the f*ck up, wipe away the cold sweat and listen.
So now we have a good idea of songs that will still play a hundred years from now. We can say the Beatles, the Beach Boys, the Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd will be regarded as classical music one day when man has colonies on Mars and expeditions to Jupiter. And on one of those space-ships there will be someone listening to this album. His friends will poke fun at him for being old fashioned. He'll meet a girl and introduce her to this music, and they'll fall in love.
And she'll say, "why haven't I heard this before?"
And he'll say, "because we weren't ready for it."
Devin Townsend cannot disappoint
Call me a fanboy, a lunatic, or whatever you'd like.. I have yet to hear something bad from Devin Townsend. He continues to impress me with each and every release. This review probably won't help much, but it's how I feel about him and the albums!

Prepare to have your mind blown. The great Devin has done it again. Worth three times this price. Support real musicians like him and pick this up!
