An attempt to not be biased
Ok, even if I didn't have such a close connection to the band, I would feel the exact same about this album. Sure, there are plenty of bands that can wrap good lyrics and musicianship into a clean, neat little package, but there are very few that can do it on their own, without the help of industry professionals. This album was produced 100% by the band, headed by lead singer/songwriter Genji Nakano. Every note, lyric, drum beat, and weird background noise was thought about and tweaked (sometimes more than a dozen times) by the band, not a "big time" producer, and certainly not in a "big time" studio. Over the course of the 7 month journey to create Deeper, FourWayFree spent less than a week in "real" independent studios. The rest was spent in friend's apartments and homes all over Los Angeles. Another great thing about this band, which has graced them with comparisons to the likes of The Dave Matthews Band, is that there is no definied front man. Each band member holds their own and gets showcased over the course of the album. Whether its Jeff's blazing guitar solo in Cigarettes, or Peter's beautiful cello lines in This Old Thing, each band member has a personality and something to say. When someone does speak up, everyone else in the band provides the pedestal. FourWayFree has gained and lost members over the years but it has settled into, by far, the most comfortable combination of artists yet. This album proves it. They deserve your attention, and you deserve theirs. Buy this album, and see them live. You won't be disappointed.
AMAZING!!!
i just have to say that I love this album. Every song gets better and better. This album is definetely worth it. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to hear some good music with some really good lyrics. Buy it and tell everyone you know about it because you won't want to be the only one that enjoys it.
From start to finish...
Once again, original creative lyrics meets sweet sounding musical genius. Thanks for coming through with another incredible life soundtrack. -Kelli
