Brilliant ... with a chance of Clouds
The Clouds are amazing - especially LIVE! I've seen them three times now, all in Door County, WI. "'Till It's Gone" is probably my favorite song, just because of the lyric, "The sun is a rose and the lake is a bowl of wine..." It always takes me away from whatever reality I happen to be in at the mo'. "Baby I Love Your Mind" has a great groove, and the words and lyrics Jeremy plays with are brilliant. Can't wait for their second album to come out (I heard a few previews at the last show I was at - Fishstock rules). I have a hard time catagorizing their music, as well as comparing them to any other group - they fit my taste though. This album is perfect for any mood or situation you find yourself in - especially entertaining guests. My advise is sagelike ... take it.
Go buy it. Now.
Be that person in your group of friends that can say "I was the first to hear these guys." I've seen them many times in Chicago, but was blown away when J.T's brother (sorry I can't remember your name man!) started beat-boxing while playing the accordian. And it was solid. Although no beat box-accordian tunes on this album, "Dust To Dust Blues" and "Brag Papa Brag" are good dancing tunes and "Baby I love Your Mind" will get you laid. "How You Left Me", "Till it's gone"- amazing, thought provoking songs. If you like local Chicago and San Francisco music, just buy the damn album.
A MUST SEE & HEAR
If you can't make it to one of there shows then you've gotta buy the album. JT's lyrics are all original and very unique. Set to the sounds of the clouds this music will grab you on the first listen. If you get a chance to see them live your in for a mix of blues, country, funk, rock that can only be described as JT & the Clouds. Second Album just released "The City's Hot" , and so are these guys, look for it soon or find there web site.
