Customer Reviews

People are stupid.

Matt Skiba is an amazing and talented artist. Everyone on here is saying that this album is garbage. Those people are consumed by the teat we call call mainstream media in this country. This album is experimental, and beautiful. Matt Skiba wanted to create an album that gave listeners a chance to dive into his mind and his conscience for a short period of time. When you actually listen, unlike most idiots reviewing this album, you can feel a certain energy. You can feel certain emotions that went into the production of this album. It's almost like being taken back to a specific memory and re-living it. Matt Skiba is a very accomplished musician. He actually puts his heart and his soul into what he does and you can feel that in all of his music. This album is definitely worth getting, you will not be disappointed. Don't listen to these sad excuses for people on here that probably listen to crap like Rhianna and Nickelback who don't know a good song if it wrote them a letter. Get this album, and actually LISTEN to it. You will not be disappointed.

Very nice

Anyone expecting the sound of ALK3 be careful, this is not Alkaline Trio. Same great songwriting, much different sound. Skiba is awesome at making a very dark thought sound beautiful. Reminds me of a stripped down Heavens IMHO. I think this is great and anyone who can appreciate the songwriting aspect will too.

surprising

when i first listened to this album i was extremely excited to hear "how the hell did we get here?" (aka-Fruit Please). when the song first hit my ears i was ready to track down mr. skiba and smack him for disappointing me. i mean months prior to the release he had made the song sound like it was going to be much cleaner and more direct... well after going back to the song here and there it actually started growing on me and thinking deeper into it the cd was after all called "demos". skiba delivered in every sense of the word. this album, to me, is a masterpiece (for the most part). some of the songs could have been exchanged for others but i mean the album all together is beautiful. it took me once or twice listening through it to get a real feel for the music but now its one of my favorite albums and something i really appreciate is the extra mile he took to make me ask "where the hell is this guy?" i listened to the cd with a friend in my car at night and the two of us laughed because it quite honestly sounds like you are lost in a dark tunnel or something. top songs: into thin air, cradle to the grave, haven't you?, how the hell did we get here?, s.o.s and the list goes on.
