Dark & Crunchy
I happened on Abbe May's "Mammalian Locomotion" while watching the end credits on AMC's Breaking Bad, and I had to look it up right away. Amazing guitar and vocals drive Abbe's powerful and deeply disturbing sound. The guitar is raw, reminiscent of Jack White, if White was prone to heavy heroin use. The best thing about this album is the way it just keeps getting better. The last few numbers are kind of sleepy, emphasizing the dark mood of the album overall. If you are looking for a strong finish, this is not the place. But when it comes to mega-crashing starters, here you go!
