“Desire for A Straight Line” may consist of nothing but acoustic guitar and mandolin, but there’s nothing resembling bluegrass or folk music here, folks. Instead, one is treated to 16 examples of modern composition that are sometimes challenging, but more often accessible. This album works equally well as background for reading and for focussed listening. I highly recommend it.
