decent but not the moka we're used to....

This disc is a good listen with nice production and good melodies, but not the Moka knowledgeable fans are used to. Looking at the Ceiling and One Time are classic Moka and Beautiful is a great track reminiscent of mid-90's Prince, but a lot of the disc seems watered down and radio friendly. This last statement seems to be supported by the man himself on his "response" album The Desired Effect II, where he states that this album is what happens "when you're hungry, sometimes you go for it".

Don't Knock the Creativity

I have most of Moka's other work, this guy is a genius. But with this album he tried a different sound. I liked it. No it’s not the same old Moka we all know and love, but you can't knock the creativity and new sound this album brings. Just enjoy the music.

this is a good release from Moka, with guest apperances by MF Doom, Stones Throw vet OH NO and production by JayDee, you can't go wrong!
