Forty Four Years

Why all the hate for sounding like The Beatles? Revolver came out 44 years ago and music is still being driven by the music created for that record. Some of the songs are barely two-minutes long and yet they still fuel much of the band oriented popular music we here today.

I enjoyed the whole record save for some excessive use of delay and echo on Liam's voice which seem to be applied at the insistence of a singer rather than by the careful consideration of a great producer like Steve Lillywhite.

Each song has something interesting and pleasurable about it. The dedication to Carnaby Street style and vibe circa 1965-1966 is a welcome one to this listener. There is something to be said for "cool" when it comes to rock and at the very least this collection right down to the fonts used in the logo is damn cool.

I'm so sorry it had to come to this Liam...

first of, Liam i am so so so so so sorry it had to come to this. but my mind is made up. i can't even give this album 3 stars. and trust me, IM A HUGE OASIS FAN. but this...ugh. where do i start? well first off, they re so lacking in lyrics. Noel was clearly the "lyrical genius" behind Oasis. his lyrics are so deep, The Masterplan makes me cry. and some of the songs on hear make me cry to. but not out of emotion. no, for thee exact opposite reason: that the rivalry was so bad it came down to this, Liam having to show how "awesome" (sarcasm) he was and see if he would make it without Noel. NOEL PLEASE COME BACK!! Noel WAS Oasis. Second, the guitar is really not good. (better than sayin it's terrible, eh?) Noel was SO much better. third, what's with Liam's voice? he's trying to sound all...not Liam-y. he completly lost thee Oasis element in his voice. Maybe it has to do ith the fact Noel is gone? Hmmm......and last, Noel just NEEDS to come back. I'm sorry, this album is just not good. Noel is amazing. If you wanna see some REAL Gallagher solo stuffs, check otu The Dreams We Have As Children (Noel's live solo CD he made in 2007 for Teen Cancer Trust.)

One good thing? The Roller is somewhat enjoyable. but reeeeeeaaalllllly repetative.

Liam is arguably one of the greatest rock signers of all time

Great songs, decent lyrics, nice, pop sound. Don't like then f*&k off...

Biography

Formed: 2009 in London, England

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '00s, '10s

British alt-rock outfit Beady Eye formed in 2009, several months after the rivalry between Oasis siblings Liam and Noel Gallagher reached a boiling point at a summer festival, resulting in Noel's departure and the band's dissolution. That fall, Liam and three of his former Oasis bandmates — Gem Archer, Andy Bell, and Chris Sharrock — booked studio time with producer Steve Lillywhite to begin work on a new album, with plans to release the first single under their new moniker...
