Incomplete

This is not a complete Alkaline Trio box set, but rather a box set of their material on Vagrant Records. To review this box set would be to review their output during those years. Nevertheless, Alkaline Trio is an amazing band. Hell Yes, Mr. Chainsaw, and Jaked on Green Beers are only a few of the gems in this list. However, if you're new to the Trio, don't think that this is everything the band has to offer. There's still Goddamnit, Maybe I'll Catch Fire, and their self titled b-sides collection, all of which are on Asian Man Records. As for the rating, the band deserves five stars, but this "digital box set" idea is pointless. Just buy their CDs...Goddamnit was their first album, and it would probably make a fine starting point for a new fan as well.

Totally worth it...

This is one of the greatest punk bands of our time, and this is an easy way to get most of their songs. It's got all the albums, down to the classic Goddamnit. If you're in to Alkaline Trio, this has the new stuff and the original stuff. Perfect for anyone who loves this band.

Alkaline best band around

From day 1, to now, Alkaline Trio have been one of the most complete bands. Despite line up changes at Drummer, the band has yet to falter. Sundials all the way through to Calling All Skeletons, the catalog is a very deep and wide range of material. Any person looking for a real rock band, with soul, depth, and growth would be wise to get their hands on the COMPLETE Catalog, not just these 4 albums. Each album has many reasons why it could be their best. That's one defining thing for bands, when your first album can still be your best, while making the same argument for each one after. Love this band, definitely worth looking into. This box set is one easy way to really see the greatness of Alkaline Trio.

Formed by ex-Jerkwater and Traitors drummer Matt Skiba (vocals/guitar), former 88 Fingers Louie percussionist Glenn Porter, and Rob Doran (bass/vocals), Alkaline Trio was brought together in 1997 by heartbreak, angst, and the companionship of drinking. The original lineup issued a short EP, For Your Lungs Only, just prior to Doran's departure in late 1997, and Sundials followed one year later on Johann's Face Records.
