Album Review
The group's first release for Roadrunner finds Believer tempering their Christian metal sound with some classical elements, thanks to Scott Laird's viola and violin playing, and Julianne Laird Hoge's soprano operatic vocals. The centerpiece of Dimensions is "The Trilogy of Knowledge," a 20-minute track inspired by progressive rock and broken into several movements.

What a great old Christian Metal Cd...
I had this "tape" back when it came out when I was like 13. Brings back memories... I only hope that Believer can get there other 2 cd's onto itunes so I can get them as well... Sanity Obscure and Extraction from Mortality. 2 grat cd's as well!
An incredible album
(First off, I want to respond quickly to the one remark that there are tracks missing from this album. All the tracks are here, nothing is missing. The one "reviewer" is referring to two tracks from Believer's first album, Extraction From Morality.)
If you're a fan of progressive metal, thrash metal, or death metal, take it upon yourself to check out this album. This is Believer's thrid album and at the time was their best. From the opening track Gone to the ending Trilogy Of Knowledge, this album hits you and does so from multiple angles. Stand out tracks for me are Gone, Dimentia, What is But Cannot Be, No Apologies, and Trilogy Of Knowledge. The song Dimentia is probably my favorite of the album and possibly of the band's entire catalog. It debates faith vs logic, solos into a controlled, well written wall of dis-chordant noise, then ending with a guitar/violin duel. The Trilogy Of Knowledge brings back the concept of symphonic thrash with the singer often trading lyrics with the sopranoas they reference stories from the Bible. Don't let that scare you or affect your judgement of this album, or any of Believer's music. They don't believe in being preachy with their material, and don't hit you over the head with it or shove it down your throat. This album rocks and does so without shame or apology.
Hopefully iTunes, R.E.X., and Roadrunner Records can get together to get Extraction From Morality and Sanity Obscure added to iTunes.
Brilliant
Although I must admit that I somewhat prefer the solid thrash of their debut, Extraction from Mortality, nevertheless Dimensions is a brilliant piece of art - particulary the last three tracks with the orchestration. I highly recommend this album to anyone who is interested in original music and thought provoking lyrics.
