ROBOTS CAN DANCE
Great record... Morrissey, Martin Gore, Tears for Fears, Bjork, and the monster from the radiohead icon have created a perfect love child.... and it is DBC! Stand out tracks- Hurt Can't Haunt, Not Lived Out... but buy the entire record. It is worth it. Intelligent and musical. These guys were Orchestral Perc majors.... and it shows in the way they have built these songs. enjoy!
i've been waiting patiently...
...and this album moves you from start to finish. it is beautiful. "hurt" is just an amazing song. current Keane fans (i am one of them) should really take the time and listen to this. too many big name artist forgot how to make a quality album, so move to the side and make way for DBC.
Not Disappointed by Candy
I first heard DBC on their Virb and Myspace pages. They caught my attention with songs like "Failed Medication" and "End of the World" which are some of the more "rock" songs on the album. I was a bit disappointed upon my first listen that not every song was as energetic. But that's my usual reaction to any album. After a few listens, I really got into it. This is relatively short album, but that's okay since every song on it is high-quality and distinct. The duo that is Disappointed by Candy clearly posses a solid command of music as demonstrated by the wonderful orchestration on this album, not to mention the range of instruments used. From the regular guitar, bass, keyboard, and drums to the accordion, strings, and synth, these guys know their stuff. The album features a great balance between alt-rock ("Failed Medication," "End of the World," "Sundrenched") and slower, more reflective songs ("Bottle," "Hurt Can't Haunt." Lullaby"). Overall, this is an amazing album that seems to grow on me more each time I listen. Disappointed by Candy does not disappoint.
