Sheer cinematic brilliance
I couldn't get to the theater fast enough to see this film, what a refreshingly different piece of work. Just great. Shorter's score propelled and intensified the story wonderfully without standing out. The pieces are subtle, yet remain impactful and energizing. "Harvesting Material", for example, is driving, energetic, but doesn't leap up and muddle the scene by being needlessly overcomplicated. It just WORKS. On the other hand, when he needs to draw out the emotion and really drive home the message, Shorter is able do that magnificently. "Prawnkus" is one of the most moving pieces I've heard at the close of the film in a long while. I was literally sitting in the theater with my jaw slackened and eyes wide as the tail credits hit. This score is moving, driving, emotional and thrilling, all at the same time. Great work, can't wait for his next film.
A complete jaw dropper!
This new guy Clinton, completely left me speechless. This soundtrack... perfect is the only way you can describe it. Buy the entire album, it's as simple as that.
An Excellent soundtrack for an Excellent movie!!!
District 9 was one of the best Science Fiction movies I have seen in years and this amazing and powerful soundtrack goes a long with it.
