East Deliciously Meets West
Indie-Ya is a play on words. The Indie mean "Independent." Ya in Ukrainian means "I am." At the same time the Indian flavor can be found throughout.
This aesthetic group is the creation of the Dymna Sumish guitarist Sergiy Martynov and
vocalist Kateryna Rokova. Kateryna composed the French lyrics for all of Divine's
tracks. In their search for music between Rajasthan and Paris the band used a lot of exotic
instruments, including the harmonium, glockenspiel, sitar, tabla and mridanga.
The album begins with the intro and ends with an eleven-minute track dedicated to all of
the band's neighbors in the old Podil district of Kyiv, as their rehearsals were held at home.
In general all 15 tracks can be called a described as a unique masterpiece.
