iTunes Review
In 1995, Death Row Records was on a crazy roll. The back-to-back releases of The Chronic and Doggystyle had transformed America's youth into an army of blunt smoking, gin-and-juice sipping G funk fanatics, and the intoxicating sounds of Dr. Dre's keyboard grooves wafted out of cars from Long Beach to Maine. After co-starring on both of those albums, Tha Dogg Pound — Daz and Kurupt — were more than ready to go for theirs, and had already developed the fanbase needed for instant success. Though not as huge as its predecessors, Dogg Food still debuted at #1, and went multi-platinum, thanks to the Snoop-assisted single and West Coast/East Coast beef instigator "New York, New York" as well as the ultra-smooth bedroom jam "Let's Play House" featuring Michel'le and Nate Dogg. Produced entirely by Daz, the music here is just what you would expect/hope for, a collection of watery synths, ferociously funky bass, and snapping beats, perfectly suiting the tag-team rhymes — a non-stop exercise in Cali gangsta-ism, overflowing with casually violent threats, XXX-rated sex rhymes, and Crip pride.

THE HEART OF THE WEST COAST!!
Deathrow perfected the westcoast sound. thanks to Dre, Snoop, 2Pac, and these two Dogg Pound Gangstas! The most under rated in the game Daz produced alot for PAC and got no credit. Its time he gets his props. This is not only a west coast classic, its a hip hop classic.
Probably the best album from Death Row
I have been listening to Hip hop for a long time, and the number of albums that I have gone through are countless. Dogg Food is one of the few albums that I can listen to from start to finish without skipping a track. The production is classic, Kurupt is a talented lyricist, and Daz is just awesome. This album is loaded with classics. Dogg Pound Gangstaz, New York, New York, Smooth, Some Bomb Azz..., One By One, Soo Much Style -- I can't choose a favorite song, they are all brilliant.
THE SOUNDS OF HUNGRY RECORDING ARTISTS
... and I'll tell you why... when was the last time you listened to an ablum all the way through?... and without hitting the fast forward button? This is the only album that I can listen to all the way thru! Nowadays, the magic number on an album is about 3 to 4 hits! That's sad... it just shows how hungry these so-called recording artists are. That's why I'm glad that iTunes gives the option to purchasing only what you want. I got sick and tired of wasting 20 bucks on a CD that only had 2 or 3 good songs. Thanks Dogg Pound for an album well-done. This is my very first time downloading a whole album. -Will Bill
