Full of hits

Sutherland and Pavarotti shine in this beautiful recording of Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore. The opera is fast paced and contains an incredible succession of extermely melodic pieces. If in your life you can own only one opera CD, I would recommend to make it this one.

L'elisir d'amore

It's a wonderful recording both in quality and musicality. The singers really bring the work to life and kept me interested the whole way. I would suggest, if you aren't fluent in Italian, to listen to the album while reading the libretto. I knew the plot beforehand, but having the words and their literal meanings in front of me really enhanced the experience. Enjoy!
