Customer Reviews

Dirty, gritty rock & roll with hooks-a-plenty.

The beauty of this record is that it's been stripped of every single ounce of filler. The songs have been painsteakingly widdled down to just the grade-a material... there's neither a throw-away riff nor a bland hook on the entire record. That's an uncommon feat in this day in age. You simply don't have time to get sick of the songs. As a bonus to the songwriting, the guitar tones are absolutely gorgeous... this is one of the best sounding rock & roll records to come out in a long time. It's loud and it's dirty, just like a proper rock & roll record should be. If you're looking for something to sing along to over and over again, something that's catchy without being the least bit cheesy and rock & roll without being cliche or self-indulgent, this is a record that you will soon find you can't do without.

Amazing, Amazing, Amazing

About a year ago I was getting sick of all those "alternative" "rock" bands who all sounded exactly the same, not to mention dull and monotonous in the lyrics department. Enough cannot be said about the great and wonderful Films with super catchy songs like Belt Loops and Being Bored to Holliewould Getaway and Body Bag to give you the not so normal, story telling, lyrics. This band is bringing back the life of Alternative! If your just getting into this band, Belt Loops and Being bored will drag you quickly in, then check out Come On and Holliewould Getaway, and to slow it down Body Bag's lyrics definitly tells the painful side of a relationship to which we can all relate. For music lovers who are looking for an exciting, awesome band, and those of us who love the Beatles who they definitly share resemblance too, you'll wanna get into this band before they go into superstardom!

The Films Are Amazing.

There is no way I could possibly justify just how amazing this album is with the space provided. However, I will do my best. I've never heard anything like it. If you're laying down, it makes your feet move. If you're standing up, it makes you dance uncontrollably. If you fall asleep and it starts playing, it'll wake you up so you can sing along. There's not a track on here you have to skip. There's not a lyric you won't feel compelled to belt. So if you're going to invest you time and money into one band, make sure it's The Films.
