Bluesalicious!

It's very refreshing to hear this up and coming artist put out some new blues material in time for the holidays! This song makes you want to sip a little cognac by the fireplace...

Love, Peace & The Blues

Wonderful vocals and recently reviewed in Blues in Britain magazine

“Love, Peace & The Blues” is the debut CD by Stacy Brooks, a supremely talented singer with the voice to conquer the worldwide blues scene in the same way as blues greats like Koko Taylor and Etta James.

On this set, Brooks is accompanied by a plethora of fine artists, including Kenny Neal, who, along with Memphis Gold also produces this impressive set.

The set plays out like a live performance with an introduction by Big Llou Johnson followed by sixteen tracks culminating in an “outro” “thank you” to all of the people who have helped her during her career to date.

Brooks opens with the impassioned acapella gospel influenced “Nobody Knows My Name” – a number that gives full rein to the power and soulfulness of her vocals. “My Name Is Stacy” finds her deep blues vocals riding a pulsing Muddy styled riff, her own backing vocals adding a gospel intensity to the proceedings – “Gotta Find Me A New Man” is a churning shuffle replete with fine harp from Anthony “Swamp Dog” Clark – whilst “Stop Watching Your Enemies” sees her adding a menacing timbre to her vocals as they ride a funky beat accentuated by baying sax.

Kenny Neal duets with Brooks on “Baby Bee – Kenny Neal & Stacy Brooks”, where Neal’s swamp infested harp and the rich timbre of his vocals add the perfect counterpoint to the salaciousness of Brooks’ voice

Truly AWESOME , voice heaven sent.
