Very Interesting

I can't remember, literally, the last time I sat down and listened to an album all the way through, start to finish. In today's age I tend to sample the tracks, pick out those songs I like best, and put them into a mixed playlist of various artists, genres, etc. Going through and listening to this "LP" from iTunes was remarkable. Significant work has been done to bring this remastered album to fruition, including correcting the slow pitch from the CDs/cassettes/albums we have of this album on our shelf already. It also introduces us to some musical content that got lost in the mixes before. Finally, extra tracks, the video of "Break on Through", liner notes, videos and documents make this an excellent, comprehensive, and refreshing collection that deserves a complete listen through. My only beef with this iTunes "LP" setup is that I can't print any of the photos or documents (e.g. The Doors record contract) and even on my 24 inch monitor the documents are hard to read and photos are small. If there is a way to increase the size or print any of it, it has escaped me. I suspect that this feature may be lacking due to copyright infringement concerns, but Jim Morrison would be the first to cry foul on that.

A bloated waste of money

1/2 a gig of handbills and ephemera. Where are the animated lyrics? How come none of this ports to an iPod? Don't be suckered into buying this or any other iTunes LP. What a joke. What a ripoff.

Great band. Great product.

I have been an avid doors fan for years. To me they are a great band that could have done so much more; this product captures that view. Their first album, released on iTunes in a special way. Not only are all the songs here, but a video, lyrics, interviews, etc. To be honest, any doors fan will most likely have all this already, yet there are some of us who don't really care. It's something new and it showcases The Doors. This is a must have for any Door's fan, or someone really interested in how good music should sound.

The Doors, one of the most influential and controversial rock bands of the 1960s, were formed in Los Angeles in 1965 by UCLA film students Ray Manzarek, keyboards, and Jim Morrison, vocals; with drummer John Densmore and guitarist Robby Krieger. The group never added a bass player, and their sound was dominated by Manzarek's electric organ work and Morrison's deep, sonorous voice, with which he sang and intoned his highly poetic...
