bad timing

This is probably the best, most underated rock album of the 90's. If it came out 4 years earlier, Hardline would have been a household name. I was luckily enough to see them play live twice. The first time was opening up for Mr. Big at 6 Flags Great Adventure in the summer of 1992. I had never heard of Hardline before that show and I became an instant fan. The next day I went out and bought their CD. Later on that summer I saw the Brandon Lee movie 'Rapid Fire' which contained not one, but two Hardline songs (Can't Find My Way and I'll Be There). I saw them again that November where they were the headline act at a local club. We didn't have tickets beforehand, so we got there really early because we were expecting a long line. We ended up meeting Johnny outside the club before the show and we got to talk to him for about an hour, discussing everything from how the band got together (Neal was Johnny and Joey's brother-in-law) to how their songs got used in the Brandon Lee movie. Johnny told us to stay after the show finished and meet the rest of the band. During the show my friend and were right up at the front of the stage. When Hardline finished, Deen threw one of his drumsticks to the crowd and Johnny pointed to me and Deen walked over and handed the other drumstick to me. After the show we did shots at the bar with Neal. And we met and hung out the with band for about 2 hours after the show. They were all really nice and really cool and Neal was extremely humble for someone with his resume (Sanatana, Journey, Bad English). We got guitar picks and autographs of the entire band and I also got Deen to sign the drumstick he gave me. Back to the album. This is one of my top ten favorite hard rock albums. The only song I don't really love is 'Bad Taste', but it does have some really nice guitar work on it. 'Hot Cherie' is one of my favorite all time songs, 'Takin' me Down', 'Life's a B***h', 'Everything' are awesome too. I am a huge Bon Jovi fan and this album stands right up there with 'Slippery When Wet' and 'New Jersey'. If you've never heard this band before, do yourself a favor and get it.

Wish they had more than one album

What ever happened to this incredible band? This is one of the BEST hair-metal albums but too bad it came out too late in the 90s. Hardline would have been much bigger in the 80s. The sound of this album doesn't seem to age...I still like it today in 2006!

Double Eclipse

Through the early 90's rock was slowly changing and grunge was arriving however their were a few bands that came out which were simple amazing and Hardline for me were one of them. Johnny Gioeli (Axel Rudi Pell) vocals are strong and powerful lead guitar Neal Schon shines as well. Every song is edgy and the ballads are stunning.Tracks like Can't Find My Way and I'll Be There are some of my favorites. This is one you just can's pass up!

Biography

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '90s

Guitar gunner Neal Schon played as a teen with Santana. Then, he founded Journey and rode their radio wave while still reaching out to Jan Hammer and Sammy Hagar for creative freedom and chop flexing. In the late '80s, he joined Bad English, which was bad idea since singer John Waite and fellow Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain (both ex-Babys) confined Schon's hammer-down tendencies just like Journey. He finally got what he wanted with the hair unit Hardline: Bad English drummer Deen Castronovo drafted...
