Let there be drone
The first two tastes of the new Black Angels "Directions to See a Ghost" feel like they might have been left over from the band's "Passover" sessions. That is a very good thing for a band who sound like Jim Morrison fronting Velvet Underground. What Doves and Drone do is reassure fans the band has gotten even better, helped in no doubt by incessant touring for "Passover." The Black Angels figure to improve on their impressive debut if these two songs are any indication. Don't change a thing guys. You are perfect.
